Third Annual LightX Expo Success
By: Carlos Gutierrez, EIT & Daniel Aldaiz
The LightX event gathered almost 70 manufacturers to display the latest advancements in lighting technology and facilitate connections among architects, engineers, designers, and other lighting industry professionals. As Engineers in Training, we were looking forward to attending educational courses to gain new knowledge about controls and future lighting technologies. We were also excited to see new lighting fixtures and potential innovations being showcased.
During the two-day event, we were able to attend four CEU courses. The one that stood out the most was the evolving role of EV charging Infrastructure. This course informed us of the increasing number of electric vehicles and the exponential growth of the demand for EV charging. The speaker brought to our attention the need for faster EV chargers, potential new forms/technologies of EV charging, and the safety factors that come with them.
Finally, meeting the professionals who have assisted us on previous projects before the event was a great way to enhance our communication and connections. Getting to know and familiarizing ourselves with the individuals who help us make our projects as efficient as possible creates a better and friendlier atmosphere when requesting information or asking questions.
LightX features Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that cover various topics, including emergency lighting applications, interior lighting design, and the evolving role of EV charging infrastructure. It fosters friendly connections with manufacturers and industry professionals, offering a blend of professional learning and a fun, relaxing atmosphere.
